My client’s Odoo.sh database v16 is currently linked to the GitHub account of their previous implementation partner. The implementation has been successfully completed, and there is no active SLA with them. Now, my client wants to designate me as the new Odoo partner to manage their database and ensure that the previous partner no longer has access.

My Odoo Partnership Manager has already transferred the client’s subscription from the previous partner to my account.

I have requested the custom addons and a database dump with filestore from the previous partner. Once I receive these, I want to know the correct steps to switch the Odoo.sh project from the previous partner’s account to mine.

My key questions are:

  1. Is the migration process similar to moving from an on-premises setup to Odoo.sh, i.e., importing the database and placing the custom addons in my GitHub repository?
  2. How will the project be delinked from the previous partner’s GitHub repository?
  3. Should I use the partnership code to create the Odoo.sh project and later insert the client subscription code after importing the database into the production branch?
  4. Can I enter the client subscription code directly while creating the project?
  5. Should I create a new repository, or is there a way to continue using the existing one?

I’d appreciate insights from anyone who has successfully migrated an Odoo.sh project between partners.

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

The process can be simpler than for on-premise to Odoo.sh).
