Hi

I am new to odoo. I am on version 18 and I have a challenge.

I have a requirement where i need to create different form for data entry (as the default form is used by administrator and can update more fields, which a normal operation user is not allowed to). I want to achieve this by creating a new menu opton for the operational user and attach a new copy of the default form where other fields are marked as read-only.


Can the above be achieved using studio ?


Just for this sake, i don't wish to create a seperate view using odoo.sh hence the ask, otherwise my application is complete using Project app of odoo.

Thanks for the links. They are useful. However, i couldn't find a option to create another form for a model. I achieved the functionality by using related fields in the same form and applying internal groups (Setting-Users-group). Works very good. I faced a challenge in applying group (as i had created a new group) as Odoo was complaing the group has no external ID (i.e. XML ID). The hack is to select the group by clicking check box and using actions to export XML id.
