Is it possible to display a date field from the Lead to a custom object? 

 

I have attempted to copy the steps similar to this:

Can you post screenshots of what you've done?   

 

Did you create a custom field on this Custom Object and select  

 

Type = Formula 

Result = Date  

 

then select the Advanced Formula Tab and use the Insert Field Button in the Formula editor to navigate through the Lead> Lookup field on the Custom Object?
