Recently, I have been exploring omnichannel, and I notice one thing that the 'Online' presence status is NOT showing in the 'Sales' application, but in the 'Service Console' application, it is showing. What is the actual reason for that?  

 

Also, if I create a new Lightning App, then how will I understand that the presence status will show properly?

Make sure that user has proper presence status assigned through permissions. Omni channel will work wherever you added that in utility bar. It's preferred to use console apps
